Dear Friends of Local Foods,
Wanted: People who are passionate about our local farmers' market and want to increase awareness of the wide range and benefits of using locally produced products.
The Mid Del Farmers' Market Association Board of Directors would like to form a 'Friends of the Mid Del Farmers Market' group. We are inviting all Mid Del Farmers' Market fans to join this group and to help organize and present fun events, programs for kids, demonstrations, etc., that we can offer for market shoppers.
The board envisions the purpose of the Friends of the Mid Del Farmers' Market to be to:
Provide outreach and education to the public on food production, nutrition, preservation and general cooking and food preparation;
Collaborate with other community organizations to organize charitable and educational programs and activities in support of local, sustainable agriculture;
Strengthen and encourage community support of local, sustainable agriculture in order to help preserve Oklahoma's unique agricultural heritage;
Help provide a creative and vibrant community gathering place
We hope to have an organizational meeting set up sometime in early December.
